 Woman, You Are a Standard

By Layo Obidike

“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” — Proverbs 31:29

Let’s be honest—some days feel like a blur of responsibilities, expectations, and quiet doubts. You might feel like you’re behind, not measuring up, or simply not doing enough.

But here is truth that doesn’t waver:
You were never meant to strive for worth—you were born with it.

You are a standard. Not in a way that pressures or burdens, but in a way that reflects God’s grace, wisdom, and power working through your life.

The Proverbs 31 woman isn’t a to-do list to stress over. She’s a reminder of what’s possible when a woman lives in alignment with purpose, faith, and divine strength. And that possibility lives in you.

Today, we’re not waiting for the world to affirm it.
We declare it now: You are a godly standard.

What Makes You a Standard?

You’re worth more than rubies.
Your value is not earned—it’s inherent. You were created in the image of God, and nothing can subtract from that truth. You don’t need the world’s approval; Heaven has already called you priceless.

You are a source of strength and peace.
In your relationships—whether in family, friendship, or leadership—you carry love, stability, and wisdom. You are a vessel of blessing to those around you, not because of your perfection, but because of your faithfulness.

You stand firm in the storm.
Life will press against you. Still, you rise with grace and dignity. Your strength is not your own—it flows from the Spirit of God within you. Even in silence, your life speaks volumes.

You fear the Lord.
This is what sets you apart. Not fear as the world sees it, but reverence—deep honor for the One who made you. It’s the root of your wisdom, the reason for your peace, and the source of your inner beauty.

How to Embrace Your Standard

Know your identity.
You are not defined by your mistakes, your status, or even your success. You are defined by your Creator. You are chosen, appointed, and loved beyond measure.

Walk in grace.
The Proverbs 31 woman didn’t arrive in a day. Her story is one of faithful growth over time. Let grace meet you in the process. You are not behind—you are becoming.

Be faithful with what you’ve been given.
You don’t need someone else’s life or gifts. God has already placed within you everything you need to impact your world. Steward your strengths. Your authenticity is your anointing.

A Prayer for the Woman Who’s Ready to Stand

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for creating me with divine purpose and eternal value. Help me to walk in the standard You’ve set—not in striving for perfection, but in receiving Your grace. Teach me to live rooted in truth, clothed in dignity, and strengthened by faith. May my life bring glory to You and healing to those around me.
 In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Speak This Declaration Over Your Life

I am worth more than rubies.
I am valuable, strong, and equipped for every good work.
I rise to the challenges of life with grace and dignity.
I bless the people around me with peace, strength, and love.
I do not chase perfection—I walk in your purpose.
By God’s grace, I am more than enough.

Step in It

Take a moment today and be honest about the area of your life where you feel “less than.” Name it. Bring it to God in prayer. Ask Him to show you the truth of how He sees you in that very space—valuable, strong, and equipped.

Then move forward in your day not with pressure, but with peace.

Because you are a standard. Not in your striving.
 In your surrender.
